Certainly looks like Houston is cutting D'Eriq King loose tonight. A lot more designed runs for the QB and it's opened up the field a bit as the Coogs take an early lead over Washington State.

While Jalen Hurts is dazzling at QB for the Sooners, D'Eriq King has had an up-and-down night for the Cougars. He has been prodcutive, hitting short throws and making plays with his feet, but unable to connect downfield. He's 0-for-6 on throws of 10-plus yards through the first 42 minutes.

Sermon hurdles over defenders (0:27)
Hurts finds Rambo for 56-yard TD (0:32)

The Sooners were dominant moving the ball in the first half (a 370-153 yardage advantage) but only lead by 11 thanks in part to a key turnover and two missed field goals. The defense has been solid thus far, holding Houston to just 1-of-6 on third down conversions, so that's a positive sign for OU. D'Eriq King is keeping the Coogs' in this one with his playmaking ability.
