With representatives for strawweight titlist Vic Saludar and mandatory challenger Wilfredo Mendez unable to make a deal, the WBO has scheduled a purse bid to determine promotional rights to the bout. The purse offer is scheduled for June 27 at the WBO offices in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Minimum bid is $80,000. Rontal Championship Boxing Promotions represents Saludar and PR Best Boxing Promotions represents Mendez. The purse split will depend on where the fight takes place. Under WBO rules, if the bout is “held in the country of origin, residence or nationality of the champion” it’s a 75-25 split in favor of the titlist. If the fight is “held in any other country” the titleholder gets 80 percent and the challenger 20 percent.
