MILWAUKEE -- The UW-Milwaukee Panthers are parting ways with men's basketball coach Rob Jeter after 11 seasons.
Athletic director Amanda Braun made the announcement Thursday, saying a change in leadership was needed to consistently be a top program in the Horizon League.
Jeter, who had one year remaining on his contract, compiled a 185-170 overall record.
As he cleaned out his office, Jeter told WTMJ-TV he's proud of what his teams have accomplished, and how his players have conducted themselves in the community and academically.
Braun says the search process will begin for a new head coach who has "a proven record of continued success."
Green Bay knocked Milwaukee out of the Horizon League tournament in the second round last week. The Panthers ended the season 20-13.
