Tough break for Cole Madison, who came back to make the team this year after sitting out his whole rookie year to work on his mental health. He's going to need knee surgery after getting hurt in practice yesterday. "My heart breaks for him," coach Matt LaFleur said.

Could anyone have done what Aaron Jones is doing in the Packers' running back-centric offense? "His ability to smell the end zone is unbelievable," Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett said. Jones has 14 TDs, tied for the NFL lead, through 10 games.

Does it help Packers D-coordinator Mike Pettine prepare for the 49ers offense because of the connection between Kyle Shanahan and Matt LaFleur? Pettine said the help came this summer going against it in training camp, but "it's a different play caller, they game plan differently and they have different types of players. While it helps a little bit, that's about it – a little bit."

Matt LaFleur's wife, Bre, and their two boys are staying at his brother Mike's house in California this week in advance of Sunday's game against the 49ers, where Mike is the pass-game coordinator. Matt LaFleur joked that he told Bre to "Go steal his backpack or something."

TE Robert Tonyan, in pads today, told me he's finally ready to go. He's been out since the Oct. 6 game at Dallas with a hip injury. He's practiced a couple times in pads since then, but this time he says he's good to go. Fellow TE Marcedes Lewis was the only one not on the field today. He was on the exercise equipment likely getting his usual veterans rest day.
