Catcher Kurt Suzuki agreed with the Braves on a $3.5 million contract for next season, and GM John Coppollela said the team will exercise Tyler Flowers' option for next season as well.

Snitker hopes to return as Braves skipper in '18

Brian Snitker is on a one-year contract and doesn't know if he will return next as year as manager of the Atlanta Braves. They hold an option for a second year, but Snitker has yet to hear their plans for 2018.

Aguilar takes home honor of longest HR

The Brewers' Jesus Aguilar bested the Braves' Freddie Freeman by one foot for the longest home run on Wednesday at 437 feet. Gary Sanchez wasn't far behind with a 432-foot blast.

Braves' new spring training complex OK'd

The Braves plan to break ground next month on their new spring training complex near Sarasota, Florida, after city commissioners voted 3-2 Tuesday to approve the $100 million project.


Braves score 7 off Scherzer in victory over Nats

Dansby Swanson smacked a bases-loaded, two-run single off Washington ace Max Scherzer in the seventh inning, Matt Kemp hit a grand slam two batters later and the Atlanta Braves beat the Nationals 8-2 on Wednesday.

Max Scherzer's Cy Young resume took a hit, as the Nats ace allowed six runs in six innings to take his ERA from 2.32 to 2.59 in Washington's 8-2 loss to the Braves. Meanwhile, Atlanta starter Luiz Gohara, making his second career start, became the second Brazilian pitcher ever to pick up a big-league W.

Ozzie Albies looks like a keeper. The 20-year old Braves infielder has walked and hit the ball hard twice off Max Scherzer, including a game-tying RBI single. Albies has an 11-game hit streak and is slashing .295/.359/.470 since being called up on August 1st.

Braves starter Luiz Gohara is the fifth Brazilian player to reach the majors. Tonight at Nats Park, he tries to become the first Brazilian pitcher to get a W since Andre Rienzo in 2014. All he has to do is beat Max Scherzer.

Freddie Freeman is lights out on his birthday

The Braves first baseman celebrated his 28th birthday Tuesday by tallying three hits, including a three-run homer. He now has hits in seven consecutive games played on his birthday and is batting .467 in his career on Sept. 12. (Elias Sports Bureau)

After helping Nats clinch, Braves rout NL East champs 8-0

Freddie Freeman hit a three-run home run off Gio Gonzalez and Julio Teheran threw seven shutout innings as the Atlanta Braves cruised to an 8-0 victory Tuesday night over the Washington Nationals, who were fresh off clinching the NL East.

Braves' 2018 schedule announced

Atlanta opens its 2018 season at home with a three-game series against the Phillies starting on March 29. On April 2, the Nationals come to Atlanta for a three-game series. The Braves then hit the road for a nine-game road trip against the Rockies, Nationals and Cubs.


Adams' 11th-inning homer lifts Braves over Marlins 10-8

Rio Ruiz had a tying, two-run single with two outs in a three-run ninth inning and Lane Adams hit a two-run homer off Vance Worley in the 11th that gave the Atlanta Braves a 10-8 win over the Miami Marlins on Sunday.
