Today's rookie report: The two offensive linemen drafted by the Cardinals – guard Dorian Johnson in the fourth round and tackle Will Holden in the fifth – both held up quite well in 11-on-11. They were blocking consistently for quarterback Blaine Gabbert, holding off a pass rush to give him time to throw.

Best play of the day: Cornerback Justin Bethel intercepted quarterback Drew Stanton during 7-on-7 on a pass intended for Larry Fitzgerald. The throw was made into double coverage and Bethel came across the middle to make the interception while barely avoiding a collision.

This is what happens when you're a rookie. Cardinals CB Gump Hayes was carrying veterans' shoulder pads when fellow corner Patrick Peterson guided him in front of the cameras and interviewed him.

Best play of the day: Rookie tight end Ricky Seals-Jones had an impressive touchdown catch from fellow rookie, quarterback Trevor Knight. Seals-Jones ran his route toward the goal line up the seam of the defense and turned outside. Knight's pass appeared to be a little further outside than expected so Seals-Jones had to rotate his body more to make the acrobatic catch.

Overheard at camp: "Everybody has a good day. Everybody has a bad day." – Cardinals coach Bruce Arians on the rollercoaster of a training camp the wide receivers, who have come under intense criticism recently, have had this year.

Today's injury report: Left tackle D.J. Humphries (hamstring) was expected to "get extended work" on Wednesday afternoon. Outside linebacker Jarvis Jones is still out with a back injury. Coach Bruce Arians said the first epidural Jones received did not work. "We may have to do another one," he said. Linebacker Philip Wheeler has been out with a foot injury. Arians said Wheeler is close and could be out for another week. Arians feels like linebacker Josh Bynes' hamstring injury is setting him back. "He flashed and like most guys you get off the street, they think they're in shape but they're not in football shape." Outside linebacker Markus Golden has a sore foot.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians doesn't expect rookie wide receiver Chad Williams to start contributing to the offense until around Thanksgiving but said Williams could play on special teams. "It's going to be very hard to get a hat on Sunday," Arians said.

Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald was supposed to have the day off from practice yesterday but he chose to participate, instead. "I think he wanted to help lead his group and hopefully he'll take today off," coach Bruce Arians said. The Cardinals' receivers have been under intense criticism this week from Arians for their subpar practices. Arians said Fitzgerald's decision speaks for itself. "You can't say anything more about Larry that hasn't been said," Arians said. "He takes care of his room as good as anybody."

The Cardinals have hit the dog days of training camp, having been in camp since July 21: "It's kind of getting boring out there. They're getting bored with each other. Looking more forward to games and you have to fight through that. I think we'll fight through it better today."

Cardinals quarterbacks coach Byron Leftwich will call the offensive plays again Saturday night against the Chicago Bears, head coach Bruce Arians said.

Cardinals LB Josh Bynes will miss about a week with a hamstring injury, coach Bruce Arians said. Bynes will miss Saturday's game vs. Chicago. He's been having a very good camp since he was signed on Aug. 5.

Cardinals WR John Brown said Tuesday he won't return from an injured quad earlier than he should just so he can get back on the field. "I'm not just about to run out there and hurt myself because I got to be out there," Brown said. "I'm just going to come back when I'm ready."

When Bruce Arians gets quiet 'it's not a good thing'

Players knew Bruce Arians was very serious on Tuesday when he stopped hollering and chose instead to quietly tell them he was disappointed.

Cardinals wide receivers Chad Williams, Aaron Dobson and John Brown will return to practice today, coach Bruce Arians said, as will left tackle D.J. Humphries in a limited role. Arians hopes that Humphries will go through individual drills today and be able to practice in team drills later this week and play in Saturday night's game against Chicago.
