Vikings players categorized Kevin Stefanski's game plan as "simpler." That doesn't mean they changed much offensively and ran a lot of plays they'd executed previously. What 'simpler' often entailed was running different plays out of the same personnel. Zimmer: "We pared some things down, but we ran one play 10 times with 10 different variations. So sometimes that's what it is too, you know. You can format it differently and get ‘em in different looks so they can't key on one thing, which we're basically running the same play."

Cousins on how Vikings' 41 points doesn't just speak to what the offense did: "It's so much more than the offense. When you look at Marcus Sherels' punt return that gave us three points, we didn't do anything as an offense. We were terrible. We went three plays and out. Walked off the field undoing my chin strap, I'm ticked off. Get three points out of it, that's not our offense. They go for it on fourth-and-11 and our defense gets a sack, gives us the ball on the whatever yard line, 20-yard line, 15-yard line, that's not our offense. That's our defense. And that's the whole team putting the offense in position where they have to go for it on fourth-and-11 backed up in their own territory. When you start to play complimentary football, certain phases start to look really good but maybe it's other people helping you out. And guess what? The reason there's nine sacks is because we scored 21 points in the first quarter and gave our defense an opportunity to pin their ears back and go. It's everybody working together and that's NFL football, team football."

After going up 21-0 in the first quarter, the Vikings lead was cut to 21-10 at halftime 13 plays after Kirk Cousins thew his third pick-6 of the season. While the offense has looked the most explosive it has in weeks, the same issues for Cousins keep cropping up: shaky pocket presence and feel trying to dissect where pressure might be coming from while trying to execute his reads.

Dalvin Cook has scored 15.8 PPR fantasy points already today, the fourth consecutive week he has scored 15-plus. That's the first such streak of that length in his career. Disappointment or not this season, he's lining up for a potentially huge breakthrough in 2019.

Vikings were only in shotgun twice on their first two drives. Cousins under center sets up so many opportunities for play-action, screen game, outside zone game, etc. A page out of the Rams book.
