The Eagles signed DE Daeshon Hall and RB Boston Scott and put RB Corey Clement (knee) and DE Josh Sweat (ankle) on injured reserve Tuesday. Injuries continue to pile up for the defending champs.

The Eagles are expected to sign rookie RB Boston Scott off the Saints' practice squad, pending a physical, adding depth in the wake of Corey Clement's Sunday knee injury. A source confirmed the news, which was first reported by the NFL Network. At 5-foot-6, Scott was the shortest player selected in this year's NFL draft when the Saints took him in the sixth round out of Louisiana Tech. The 203-pounder ran for 1,047 yards and scored nine touchdowns as a senior. Then he ran for 121 yards and a TD in the preseason, while also returning kickoffs for the Saints.

Familiar issues finally knocked the Eagles off the high wire. They were sluggish on offense to start and let down late defensively in a 29-23 overtime loss to Dallas, putting them at 6-7 on the year and dropping their playoff chances to 5.1 percent, per ESPN FPI. With a game at the Rams up next, things are looking bleak for the defending champs.
