Nick Foles will practice today, according to coach Doug Pederson. Wentz will take part in 11-on-11 and split first-team reps with Foles.

Seth Walder ESPN Analytics

The Eagles are the best team in the NFL, per ESPN's Football Power Index. Changes to the vig on Philadelphia's season win total earlier this offseason bumped the defending champs over New England. However, the Patriots (17%) and Steelers (13%) remain more likely to win the Super Bowl than the Eagles (13%) because there are fewer contenders in the AFC. Note: these numbers were run before AJ McCarron's injury, which will affect the Bills' rating.

Missed connection: Brady, Foles finally meet up

Tom Brady and Nick Foles connected after Thursday night's preseason game between the Patriots and Eagles, and both shot down the notion that the Pats' QB had snubbed the Super Bowl MVP back in February.

Tom Brady met Nick Foles at midfield for a handshake and embrace after the game. Before he made it to Foles, Brady shook Malcolm Jenkins' hand.

The health of QB Nick Foles is the No. 1 issue for the Eagles coming off their preseason game against the Patriots. He left in the second quarter with what the team described as a shoulder strain. He grabbed his throwing arm after DE Adrian Clayborn hit him mid-throw from his blindside. With Carson Wentz's status still up in the air for Week 1, the Eagles need Foles to be available.

Eagles QB Nate Sudfeld showing why the coaching staff is excited about him. He's had several pretty throws against the Patriots, including a TD pass under pressure to TE Richard Rodgers, and a dime down the sideline to WR Shelton Gibson from his own end zone.

Eagles whistled twice (S Rodney McLeod, LB Nigel Bradham) for lowering the helmet infractions in first quarter. This is going to be a big adjustment for defensive players.

Tom Brady made a rare pre-game trip to the field and spoke briefly with Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, took a few tosses and then signed a few autographs on his way back to the locker room. Brady seldom goes through that type of pre-game routine; perhaps he was looking for Nick Foles.
