Losing to the Dallas Cowboys is one thing, but for the Philadelphia Eagles to be so thoroughly outmatched in the season's most critical game -- a 37-10 Dallas romp -- is nothing short of alarming. Coach Doug Pederson seemed to sense his team was veering off course following a bad loss in Minnesota and tried to reroute them this week by cutting starting linebacker Zach Brown and stepping out of character to essentially guarantee a win against Dallas during a radio appearance. Whatever spark was intended did not catch. With another road test against the 5-1 Buffalo Bills up next, followed by a three-game home stretch against the Chicago Bears, New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, the Eagles season is suddenly on shaky ground.

Cowboys run over Eagles, take 1st in NFC East with 37-10 win

Ezekiel Elliott ran over safety Malcolm Jenkins on his way to 111 yards and a touchdown, Dak Prescott threw an easy scoring pass on a great fake to his star running back before a TD run and the Cowboys rolled to a 37-10 victory over the Philadelphia...

The Eagles failed on all fronts in the first against Dallas and trail 27-7. They were carved up for 111 yards on the ground, turned the ball over twice and were outgained 266-95. An alarmingly inept performance given the stakes.

Slow starts are just killing the Eagles. Have trailed by 10-plus points in 6 of 7 games early, including 14-0 to Dallas right out of the gates. Were able to cut deficit in half by end of first quarter, but always an uphill climb with this team.

Huge sequence early, as the refs pick up the flag on a pass interference call on Alshon Jeffery. Promptly followed by an Eagles turnover and a Dallas TD. Officials will be under fire in Philly for that one.

Cowboys DE Lawrence to Pederson: 'We ready'

Doug Pederson's "we're gonna win that football game" comment on Monday has not been much of a topic of discussion inside the Cowboys' locker room as they get ready to play the Eagles, but defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence will not forget it.
